Every time I go to Fujiya, it simultaneously feels new and innovative while also feeling cozy and like you're at home. The environment is modern, warm, minimalist with character, and authentically Japanese. The service is always exceptional; go there more than once and they'll remember you (although they greet everyone with a welcoming "irasshaimase"), but by visit 3 we were family. We always start with stuffed mushrooms, miso soup, and oyster shooters (best I've found in the greater Sacramento area; made with the freshest quail egg and tobiko). Pro tip from the staff: add some dashes of Tabasco. No matter what you order, you'll be able to taste every flavor profile the chef's intended, it's truly one of the most beautiful forms of art. This last visit we asked the chef to do whatever he felt like, no restrictions (note that omakase isn't on the menu, but if it's not busy, they might indulge you). The chef made a salmon tuna poke role with a stuffed fried jalapeño, soy wrapped with fried leek on top. They absolutely need to make this a regular, it was unreal. The night ended with some nigiri - maguro (buttery cut of tuna) and kurodai (a somewhat salty torched cut of black bream) I've had most of their rolls and never most been impressed (I need to do better about uploading how amazing everything is) but this last visit was top tier and required a shoutout.

Great selection of sushi. Each food was made fresh and a legit umami. The service was fast and efficient. The ambiance was cozy. It can be loud at times but it was good to have a great sushi place here in the town.

Fujiya is a hidden gem for great Japanese food in Elk Grove. From presentation to taste, this restaurant is top notch! It is my NEW favorite for Sushi & Sashimi for sure. Their Bento boxes are also yummy, but nothing beats the freshness of the raw fish, meticulously prepared and presented to your table. The BBQ Albacore is amazing and my friend and I were wowed with the Volcano's presentation & taste! The Gucci roll, with deep fried Lobster was incredible. They have an extensive menu, which includes Bento Boxes, Ramen, Yakatori & Donburi. The service is good here, although they are always busy. Make a reservation to be on the safe side! The restaurant itself is rather small, but there is plenty of room between the tables that you are sitting on top of your dining neighbors!

Been here several times and LOVE this restaurant so much we "bought out" the restaurant to throw our Anniversary party! Their food reminds my wife of Japan, even their decor (simple but tasteful) We've circled through their menu and have never gone wrong with anything on it! Oh and their service is very good too, all the servers tend to assist each other especially when they're busy. We love supporting our small and local businesses, this establishment is no different! In our POV FIVE STARS!!!

Closing off 2024 with a bang! This place is exceptional in every way. From the super stiff drinks, to the sushi rolls unlike I've ever had before, to the mixed tempura, also very unique. Contemporary vibes, great music playing, and incredible service. This is by far the best sushi I've ever had!

We were a large lunch group that came into Fujiya. We had various types of 1 item and 2 item lunch only bento boxes as well as some sushi rolls. Our bento boxes had combinations of tempura, chicken katsu, tonkatsu, and beef teriyaki. All tasted great. The memorable sushi roll we had was the volcano roll (spicy tuna, avocado, crab meat, tobiko, and jalapeno). All of the sushi we had was fresh and freshly made. All of the food was presented nicely. Service was very good. The inside of the restaurant was clean and modern looking. I highly recommend Fujiya.

I'm so glad I rediscovered my love for Fujiya. I must confess that when I frequented them when they first opened, I wasn't super impressed with their rolls but I definitely no longer feel that way. They have one of the best rolls I've ever had and the creativity of their rolls and their happy hour menu, has me coming back again and again! Hands down my favorite roll from them is the Gucci roll. The flavor of the torched salt, chili oil and wagyu with the mango and lobster is just unlike anything I've had. It's just the best balance of sushi flavors! I will say sometimes it isn't as good as other times because the mango can be super tart or a little tasteless (which might just reflect the season), or the portion of the roll isn't consistent but when it's good it's sooo good. We also discovered the Pyramid Roll which just has the best balance of citrus, veggies and crab salad/salmon. Love that they pile on the spring mix! For their happy hour menu (which is now everyday from 4:30-6pm), we really love the Chicken Karaage and the Sweet Potato Fries. The mayo based sauces they come with are so yummy and we used them both interchangeably. The Karaage has a nice crisp, juicy plump interior and pretty good portion! Definitely a good value for the happy hour. Their servers are friendly, but they get pretty busy often and it is harder to grab their attention during those times of the day. I would also recommend making a reservation after 6pm because of their dinner rush. I tend to like going before then if I can help it to avoid the crowds.

Probably one the of best sushi spots in EG! I'm somewhat of a sushi snob so I'm picky about "good" sushi but this place checks the box. I came here with some fam to catch up over dinner and they were able to accommodate our bigger group without a reservation. Servers kept giving me updates throughout the wait which i really appreciated. I shared some nigiri's and oysters the presentation was absolutely amazing. Would def always come back whenever I'm craving good quality sushi in Elk Grove.

Dropped in on a Saturday and we were seated immediately. The service was very friendly and quick! We ordered apps and rolls to share. The apps were really the winners of the night! The truffle hamachi, squid legs, oyster shooter and spicy garlic edamame were all 10/10 would order again. We got 3 rolls to share and they were all good. Our favorite was def the kobe roll. Had a nice torched charred flavor! The Sakura was good but def not for everyone. And the kamka roll was good, you can't go wrong with soft shell crab! We would def come back here. Loved all the apps and would love to try the other menu options!
